Midsummer Night´s Dream

The performance Midsummer Night´s Dream, which opens this year the Summer Shakespeare Festival at new Prague´stage, in garden on terrace of Riding School of Prague Castle offers outstanding connection of word, theatre and music.

Magic Shakespeare´s lyrics performed by popular artists Sabina Laurinová (Titania), Oldřich Vízner (Oberon) and Ivana Jirešová (Puck) will be accompanied by Pražská komorní filharmonie. (Prague Philharmonia). Prague Philharmonia will play the music of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, which was composed specialy for this Shakespeare´s magic comedy.

Complete Mendelssohn work, including the most famous parts as Wedding March or Dance of Dwarfs, will be presented by soprano Kateřina Kněžíková, mezzo-soprano Karolína Bubleová Berková and children´s choir Bambini di Praga. Prague Philharmonia will be conducted by young principal conductor Jakub Hrůša, the performance – partly in scenic setting, partly staged - in impressive costums was directed by Tomas Simerda.
